Purchase of Alaska
Timeline:
In 1841, Edward de Stoeckl was given the job of being 'the secretariat of the Russian legation of the U.S.'. Then in 1859 Del Stoeckl returns from St. Petersburg to the U.S. with permission to discuss Alaska being sold. Therefore in 1867, Alaska was bought by the U.S. from Russia. Though neither truly owned the territory.
Written in the 'Treaty of Purchase, Article III' it speaks of how there is a clear difference between the people who lived on the land of which was purchased /taken and the '"uncivilized tribes"' ("Timelines " )that lived on the land as well. Meaning the Russians and other cultures were very different then the Alaskan Natives.
