Boom and Bust Economy
Summary:
Over the years, Alaska has gone through ups and downs in it's economy. Mostly caused by the states income and natural revenue being ever changing. With weather and technology always being a variable the high and low points of such things seem to grow and drop at different portions of the year. For example our latest way of income is natural gas and tourists. Seeing as both though seem to dwindle down more in the colder months, we lose more money during those months, creating a low for us every winter. It isn't until the Iditarod that we see some type of massive revenue again. Same with gas prices, with everything being snowed upon and oil is then hard to find during the winter months, so our gas prices always sky-rocket during the frosty months. This common flux is not good for the state though and can create a dangerous economy. A boom and bust to be accurate. Which will never stop because Alaska is not meant to have many natural resources in the winter. That's the way it was created. Every animal has adapted to this. So why haven't we?
